Terms and Conditions

1. General Information

The amadlo brand and the website amadlo.com (the “Website”) are operated by Gauya Solutions, SIA, registration No. 40203663720, registered office: Riekstu iela 4, Riga, LV-1055, Latvia (“amadlo”, “we”, “us”). E-mail: info@amadlo.com.

Gauya Solutions, SIA is the seller and your contractual partner for all orders placed with amadlo. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all orders for products and related services placed with amadlo. By placing an order, you confirm that you have read and accept these Terms.

2. Products

amadlo offers custom-made furniture, including kitchen furniture and full kitchen projects, built-in and freestanding wardrobes, cabinet fronts and doors (including fronts compatible with IKEA METOD and PAX cabinet frames), worktops, drawers, cabinet frames, and related design, delivery, and installation services.

All products are made to order according to your individual specifications. We make every effort to ensure products conform to presented visualisations, renderings, and samples; however, colour, texture, and shade of wood, veneer, lacquer, and other natural materials may vary slightly from screen images and physical samples. Such variations are a natural characteristic of the materials and craftsmanship and do not constitute a defect.

3. Ordering

Orders may be placed in two ways:

  • Quote-based orders: after a personal design process, you receive a written quote with a price breakdown and specifications. A binding contract is formed when you approve the quote in writing (including by e-mail) and we confirm the order.
  • Online configurator orders: cabinet doors and fronts may be ordered through our online configurator. A binding contract is formed when we send you an order confirmation by e-mail.

Please review all dimensions, materials, and specifications carefully before approving a quote or submitting a configurator order. You are responsible for the accuracy of measurements and specifications you provide or approve, unless measuring has been expressly included in our services. Changes after production has started may not be possible or may incur additional costs.

4. Prices

All prices are stated in euros (EUR) and include Latvian value added tax (VAT), unless expressly stated otherwise. Delivery, shipping, and installation costs are stated separately in the quote or at checkout. Each order is priced individually based on dimensions, design complexity, materials, and fittings.

5. Payment

  • Orders with a total value below EUR 2,000 are payable 100% in advance. Production begins once full payment has been received.
  • Orders with a total value of EUR 2,000 or more are payable in two instalments: a 50% deposit before production begins and the remaining 50% (balance) within 7 days after delivery of the goods.

Payment is made by bank transfer on the basis of an invoice, unless another payment method is agreed or offered at checkout. If the deposit is not received within the term stated on the invoice, we may suspend or cancel the order.

If the balance payment is delayed beyond the 7-day term after delivery, we may charge a contractual penalty of 0.5% of the unpaid amount for each day of delay, but not more than 10% of the total order amount. Payment of the penalty does not release you from the obligation to pay the outstanding balance. The goods remain our property until full payment has been received.

Payment is made by bank transfer on the basis of an invoice, unless another payment method is agreed or offered at checkout. If payment is not received within the term stated on the invoice, we may suspend or cancel the order.

6. Production and Delivery

The typical production time is 8–12 weeks from the approval of the design and receipt of the required payment. The production time depends on the scope and complexity of the project and is indicated in the order confirmation. Production times are estimates; we will inform you of any significant delay. We are not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

We deliver and install within Latvia and ship products to other EU countries. Delivery terms, costs, and, where applicable, installation are specified in the quote or order confirmation. Risk of loss or damage to the products passes to you upon delivery (or, where we install, upon completion of installation).

Upon delivery, please check that the number of packages matches the delivery note and inspect the products and packaging for visible transport damage. Transport damage is handled in accordance with Section 7 (Transportation Claims) below.

7. Transportation Claims

You must inspect the delivered products immediately upon receipt. Any damage that may have occurred during transport must be reported to us in writing at info@amadlo.com, including photographs of the damage and the packaging, within 96 hours of delivery. Where visible damage to the packaging is apparent at the moment of delivery, please also note it on the delivery note or acceptance certificate in the presence of the carrier.

Damage reported within this 96-hour period will be presumed to be transport-related, and we will take reasonable steps to remedy it by repairing or replacing the affected products at no cost to you. Claims submitted after this period will not be treated as transport damage; for consumers, such claims will instead be assessed under the statutory non-conformity rules described in Sections 9 and 10.

Photographs should clearly show the damage, the affected product, and, where relevant, the condition of the packaging. We may ask for additional information or photographs to assess the claim.

8. Right of Withdrawal

Because amadlo products are custom-made to your measurements, material choices, and design preferences, the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts does not apply, in accordance with Article 16(c) of Directive 2011/83/EU and the Latvian Consumer Rights Protection Law (goods made to the consumer’s specifications or clearly personalised).

For this reason, completed custom orders cannot be cancelled or returned once production has begun. If any non-customised standard items are offered, consumers in the EU may withdraw from the purchase of such items within 14 days of delivery without giving a reason; to do so, contact us at info@amadlo.com.

9. Warranty and Manufacturing Claims

We provide a 24-month warranty on amadlo furniture and on installation work performed by us, counted from the date of acceptance of the furniture (delivery or, where we install, completion of installation). The warranty covers manufacturing and material defects and defects in workmanship.

Please inspect the furniture after delivery and/or installation. Any visible manufacturing defect must be reported to us in writing at info@amadlo.com within 14 calendar days from the date the defect is detected, including a description of the defect and photographs. During the warranty period, we undertake to rectify confirmed manufacturing defects within 10 working days of receiving the written notification, unless a longer period is reasonably required due to the nature of the defect, production lead times, or the availability of replacement materials — in which case we will inform you of the expected timeline.

The warranty does not cover defects or damage resulting from:

  • improper installation or assembly not carried out by us;
  • incorrect, negligent, or unintended use of the furniture;
  • modifications, repairs, or alterations made by you or any third party without our prior written consent;
  • normal wear and tear consistent with the expected use and age of the furniture, including scratches and natural changes in the tone of wood and other natural materials;
  • external factors, including but not limited to water damage, fire, flooding, excessive humidity, heat, or mechanical impact not caused by us;
  • inadequate care or the use of unsuitable cleaning agents.

This warranty is in addition to, and does not limit, your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Complaints

If a product does not conform to the contract, you have the right to submit a claim within 2 years of delivery, in accordance with the Latvian Consumer Rights Protection Law. Please send complaints to info@amadlo.com and include: your name and contact details, the order number or purchase date, a description of the defect, and photographs of the defect.

We will respond to your complaint within 14 days. Where a claim is justified, you are entitled, in accordance with applicable law, to have the product repaired or replaced free of charge or, where repair or replacement is not possible or proportionate, to a price reduction or refund.

11. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability in connection with an order is limited to the amount paid for that order, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as loss of profit or loss of use. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or limits any rights that consumers have under mandatory law.

12. Intellectual Property

All designs, drawings, visualisations, photographs, texts, and other content created by amadlo or published on the Website remain the property of amadlo (Gauya Solutions, SIA) or its partners and may not be reproduced or used commercially without our prior written consent.

13. Personal Data

We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Details are set out in our Privacy Policy, available at amadlo.com/privatuma-politika.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia. If you are a consumer residing in another EU country, you also retain the protection of the mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence.

We aim to resolve any disputes amicably — please contact us first at info@amadlo.com. Consumers may also turn to the Latvian Consumer Rights Protection Centre (PTAC, www.ptac.gov.lv) or use the EU online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. Disputes that cannot be resolved out of court are settled in the courts of the Republic of Latvia, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time by publishing the revised version on the Website. The version in force at the time you place your order applies to that order.
